Who We Are And What We Do
Our Aims
The main aims of the Group are to:-
- Market and promote the south side of Loch Ness as a tourist destination for the benefit of all members.
- Encourage and develop measures which aim to safeguard the natural environment and heritage of the area.
- Aid and assist members with development of their businesses.
- Continue to develop lochnesswelcome.co.uk as not only a marketing tool but also as an information and communication forum for the benefit of members.
- Promote good environmental practices by encouraging all members to develop practices in accordance with the STB Green Tourism Scheme and where appropriate, to gain a grading award under the scheme.
- Liaise with all relevant bodies in keeping with the aforesaid aims.
Our Membership
Membership is open, upon payment of a membership fee, to all tourist and/or business enterprises throughout the designated area of South Loch Ness and/or to similarly minded businesses from neighbouring areas subject to approval by the Chairman and Vice-Chairman.
Group Management
Management is through the elected office bearers (Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Treasurer, Membership and Recruitment Secretary and Secretary) and two other ordinary members) or as determined at the AGM.
The AGM is held in November of each year, at which time the annual accounts are presented by the Treasurer for approval and the Group appoints for the following year the elected office bearers.
